Experienced Leader in Catholic Education and School Advocacy to Begin July 14 BURLINGTON, WI — Catholic Central High School is proud to announce the appointment of Nicholas Kelly as the new President/Principal, effective July 14, 2025. With more than a decade of leadership in Catholic education and school choice advocacy, Kelly brings a wealth of experience and a proven record of advancing academic excellence, faith formation, and institutional growth. Kelly joins Catholic Central from his most recent role as President of School Choice Wisconsin, where he served since 2021. During his tenure, he was instrumental in achieving historic growth in student enrollment, expanding access to Catholic and private education across the state, and strengthening partnerships between families, schools, and policymakers. Prior to that, Kelly served as Principal of St. Thomas More High School in Milwaukee, where he led initiatives in curriculum development, faculty mentoring, student leadership, and school culture. Under his leadership, the school was recognized for its academic rigor, faith-based community, and commitment to student success. In 2021, he received the prestigious Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Principal Leadership Award. “We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Kelly to Catholic Central,” said Marikris Coryell, Acting CEO. “His strong leadership background, his commitment to Catholic values, and his ability to connect with students, families, and the broader community make him the ideal person to lead Catholic Central into its next chapter.” Kelly holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University and a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater. His professional experience also includes roles as Dean of Students, Department Chair, and Director of Servant Leadership. “I am deeply honored and excited to join the Catholic Central High School family,” said Kelly. “This school has a rich tradition and a promising future. Graduates Earn National Recognition, Prestigious Scholarships, and Acceptance into Top-Tier Universities BURLINGTON, WI — Catholic Central High School is proud to announce the graduation of its distinguished Class of 2025, a group of 30 students whose achievements reflect not only academic excellence, but also the strength of character, leadership, and community engagement that define a Hilltopper education. This year’s graduates have raised the bar with impressive milestones: Average GPA: 3.68 Average ACT Score: 23, with 7 students scoring 30 or higher (23%) 11 graduates (37%) earned a perfect 4.0 GPA  23 students (77%) graduated with honors or high honors 2 National Merit Finalists and 1 Commended National Merit Scholar 28 of 30 students will pursue higher education at top universities or trade schools More than $5.36 million in scholarship offers, with $1.1 million accepted “Our students’ achievements are the result of their hard work, the support of their families, and the unwavering commitment of our teachers and staff,” said Acting CEO Marikris Coryell. “At Catholic Central, we don’t just prepare students for college and the trades—we prepare them for life, rooted in faith, service, and connection to the greater community.” Among the class stand two remarkable student leaders: Valedictorian Clara Henderson will attend Harvard University to study molecular and cellular biology. Clara plans to become a doctor and credits her success to both rigorous academics and diverse co-curricular involvement—including athletics and state-level agriculture competitions. Salutatorian Tenley Loos, a standout on and off the basketball court, will attend St. Norbert College to continue her academic and athletic career. In a recent interview, Tenley reflected on how hands-on science classes and deeply supportive educators helped spark her passion and purpose. Graduates will be attending esteemed institutions including the University of Notre Dame, Marquette University, Loyola University, Iowa State University, and multiple University of Wisconsin campuses such as UW–Madison, Milwaukee, La Crosse, and River Falls. The Class of 2025 was honored at Catholic Central’s Annual Honors Convocation, where dozens of local, state, and national scholarships were awarded—further underscoring the extraordinary caliber of this year’s graduates. A powerful storm recently swept through our area , taking down the iconic floodlights and damaging parts of the field and bleachers at our beloved Topper Bowl — a field that holds decades of Catholic Central football memories, victories, and the spirit of Friday night pride. But in true Catholic Central fashion, we saw something extraordinary in the aftermath. Before the dust even settled, the CC Family showed up. Alumni, parents, former athletes, and community members rolled up their sleeves — together, they cleared debris, removed broken poles, and began the work of rebuilding. Their response reminded us what Catholic Central is really about: character, commitment, and community . These are the values shaped on that very field. Now, as we look to bring Friday Night Lights back to Catholic Central this fall, we need your help to take the next step. Our insurance will only cover a small portion of the replacement cost. The rest depends on us — the Catholic Central Family — to make it happen. Catholic Central High School was recently Blessed with a $25,000 grant through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee’s  Love One Another Campaign!  The funds will be used   to upgrade our current door access system, increase the number of entrances equipped with video doorbells and install a facility-wide lockdown button. Catholic Central High School places the highest priority on the security of our campus and safety of all students, staff and visitors. Catholic Central was also Blessed with a $15,670 grant from The Catholic Community Foundation to help with the high school’s Tuition Assistance Program! Catholic Central High School relies on the generosity of its supporters, like the Catholic Community Foundation, to help provide its students with an education filled with high academics, spiritual formation and experiential learning, all within a family-like atmosphere!
