- Life after High School with Catholic Central: Finding Your Path with Support and Faith
Class of 2026 | Catholic Central High School, Burlington, WI Graduating from high school is a big moment. It marks the start of a new chapter filled with choices and opportunities. Whether you plan to go to college, learn a trade, or take some time to explore your passions, the path ahead can feel both exciting and uncertain. At Catholic Central High School in Burlington, we understand this journey. We are here to support you every step of the way, helping you grow academically, spiritually, and personally. In this post, we want to share how life after high school can look different for everyone and how Catholic Central prepares students for success, no matter which path they choose. We will also highlight some of the key programs and services that make this support possible. Exploring Your Options After High School After high school, many students face a big question: What comes next? The answer is different for each person. Some choose college to continue their education. Others find trades or apprenticeships that match their skills and interests. Some take a gap year to discover what truly drives them. College: Building a Foundation for Your Future College is a popular choice for many students. It offers a chance to dive deeper into subjects you love and prepare for a career. Catholic Central’s college-preparatory curriculum is designed to challenge you and build strong study habits. Our teachers encourage critical thinking and help you develop skills that colleges look for. For example, our Advanced Placement (AP) courses give students a taste of college-level work. These classes can also earn you college credits, saving time and money later. Beyond academics, Catholic Central offers guidance counseling to help you find the right college fit. Counselors assist with applications, scholarships, and financial aid. Trades: Learning Skills That Lead to Good Jobs Not everyone wants to go to college right away. Trades offer a hands-on way to build a career. Electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and other skilled workers are always in demand. Catholic Central supports students interested in trades by connecting them with local apprenticeship programs and technical schools. Our partnership with nearby technical colleges means students can take dual-credit courses. This lets you earn high school and college credits at the same time. It’s a smart way to get a head start on a trade career while still in high school. Taking a Year to Find Your Passion Some students choose to take a year off after high school. This time can be used to travel, volunteer, work, or explore different interests. Catholic Central encourages this path, too. We believe that finding your passion is just as important as academic success. During this year, you can reflect on what motivates you and what kind of work feels meaningful. Many students return to school or start careers with a clearer sense of purpose. Catholic Central supports this journey, offering guidance and mentorship. How Catholic Central Supports You Beyond the Classroom Choosing your path after high school is easier when you have support. - Exciting News: Catholic Central High School Football Co-Op Agreement
After a thorough evaluation of the Catholic Central Football program and a comprehensive internal review process, Catholic Central High School is thrilled to officially announce a football co-op agreement with Kenosha Christian Life. This partnership marks a significant step forward for our community and our student-athletes. Preserving Our Football Tradition To preserve 11-man football at Catholic Central, our leadership determined that partnering with a program that shares our values was the best path forward. This decision was made with the long-term health of our student-athletes, our program, and the future of football in Wisconsin in mind. Like many schools across the state, Catholic Central has faced challenges due to declining football participation numbers. Throughout this evaluation process, we considered three potential paths. Evaluating Our Options The first option, dissolving the football program, was quickly deemed detrimental. This choice did not align with the history, tradition, or future vision of Hilltopper Football. The second option, transitioning to 8-man football, would have required an extended period outside of conference play. This limited scheduling opportunities and ultimately did not present a sustainable long-term solution. The third option, and the most viable, was entering into a co-op agreement. This partnership allows us to preserve 11-man football at Catholic Central while strengthening both programs for years to come. We believe this collaboration will be especially beneficial when paired with continued development at the youth level. A Long-Term Commitment This is not a short-term solution. The Catholic Central/Kenosha Christian Life co-op is a minimum five-year agreement. It is designed to remain in place until both programs are once again viable as standalone entities. Together, this co-op brings decades of coaching and playing experience spanning high school, collegiate, and professional levels—including experience at the NFL level. Both of the program's head coaches will take on co-head coaching roles. Meet Our Coaches Coach Bob Johnson brings extensive experience and a staff that includes an NFL veteran. His commitment to developing young men on and off the field makes him an ideal leader to guide our student-athletes. He will further strengthen Catholic Central’s already robust faith-based identity. Coach Nathan Wallman will provide continuity, passion for the game, and strong leadership. His presence ensures stability and growth throughout this transition for our young men. Building a Bright Future This decision reflects our confidence in the leaders who will carry forward a historically successful program built on tradition, excellence, and faith. By bringing these two programs together, we are providing stability, continuity, and opportunity. We want to ensure that Hilltopper Football will endure. We are excited about the future and look forward to our 2026 season! GO HILLTOPPERS! The Importance of Community Support As we embark on this journey, we recognize the vital role that community support plays in our success. Families, alumni, and local businesses can all contribute to the growth of our football program. Your involvement can make a significant difference. How You Can Help Attend Games: Show your support by attending games and cheering on our student-athletes. Your presence matters! Volunteer: Consider volunteering your time or resources. Whether it's helping with events or supporting fundraising efforts, every little bit helps. Spread the Word: Share our news with friends and family. The more people know about our program, the more support we can garner. Building Relationships We believe that strong relationships within our community will enhance the experience for our students. By fostering connections, we can create a supportive environment that encourages growth, both on and off the field. Embracing Our Values At Catholic Central High School, we are committed to nurturing not just athletes, but well-rounded individuals. Our values of faith, integrity, and excellence guide us in all that we do. We are dedicated to developing compassionate leaders ready for college, career, and life. As we move forward with the Catholic Central/Kenosha Christian Life co-op, we invite you to join us on this exciting journey. Together, we will build a legacy of success and faith that our community can be proud of. Let’s make this a season to remember!

- 2025 AP' School Honor Roll
Congratulations to Catholic Central High School, which was named to the 2025-2026 AP School Honor Roll! The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP program is delivering results and broadening participation for students. Schools can earn the Honor Roll recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing their school’s college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness. Catholic Central had 63% of seniors who took at least one AP Exam during high school, 57% of seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP Exam, and 3% of seniors who took five or more AP Exams! College Board’s Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) enables students to pursue college-level studies—with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both—while still in high school. Through AP courses in 40 subjects, each culminating in a challenging exam, students learn to think critically, construct solid arguments, and see many sides of an issue—skills that prepare them for college and beyond. Taking AP courses demonstrates to college admissions officers that students have sought the most challenging curriculum available to them, and research indicates that students who score a 3 or higher on an AP Exam typically experience greater academic success in college and are more likely to earn a college degree than non-AP students.
